INTRODUCTION TO FORESHORE AND UNDERWATER ARCHAEOLOGY

This is an introductory course and begins to address some of the theories of archaeology, how the law applies to underwater finds, and some techniques for underwater archaeology. This course is a prerequisite for all other NAS courses but has no prerequisites itself. This one-day course combines classroom lectures with a pool session. The pool session enables participants to try out their new survey skills in a controlled environment. Non-divers can participate either by using snorkel gear in the shallow end of the pool, or by practising survey skills on dry land.

Course Includes: course notes, use of plotting materials and NAS Passbook
