CERTIFICATE IN FORESHORE AND UNDERWATER ARCHAEOLOGY
(LEVEL 1)

This two-day course follows the Introduction to Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology course, which is a prerequisite. Lectures cover topics like project logistics, handling of archaeological finds, working on 3-D surveys, and search and survey methods. Knowledge from this and the Introduction to Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology course is tested with an assessment of 50 multiple choice questions. The practical portion of the course is covered in two dives on a training wreck in open water. This gives the students a chance to practice skills and decision making in controlled conditions, but with more realism than in the pool.
