This course gives you a chance to use your knowledge in a self-directed project. It follows the completion of the Introduction to Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology, and the Certificate in Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology (Level 1) courses.
There are two parts to the Level 2 certification. The first part is attendance at two days of archaeology-related conferences. For example, the UASBC's annual Shipwrecks conference would count for one day, or half of the conference requirement. Other meetings may be applicable. Contact the Education Director for more information.
The second part of the course is the self-directed project. You choose your project and determine your own time line for completion. This is not a large project. You should do it in pairs (with your dive buddy), or as part of a group. The project should cover about one or two weekends of diving on a site. You'll plot the results from your dives and present them in a written report. We'll forward your report to NAS headquarters in the United Kingdom for evaluation and final certification.
Course Includes: project handbook, use of survey equipment and mailing costs
