Ocean Acidification

Dwight will talk about recent observations of changes in ocean acidity and compare them to patterns over the past 300 million years. He will also address the questions of why our oceans are becoming more acidic and ecosystem and socio-economic impacts. Regions where ocean acidification is occurring most rapidly will be highlighted, as well as what will be needed to counteract the “souring” of our oceans.
