The stated mission of the Georgia Strait Alliance is to protect and restore the marine environment and promote the sustainability of Georgia Strait, its adjoining waters and communities. Mike will tell us everything we ever wanted to know about the issues facing the Georgia Strait but were afraid to ask, and what we can do to help.

HMS Bounty - The Real Story

Charles has had a life long interest in the story of the Bounty, ever since he read the Nordoff and Hall trilogy about the Bounty as a youth. He will talk to us about the true story behind the Mutiny and its crew.

David will talk to us about the Robert Kerr which sank north of Thetis Island and played a role in the burning of Vancouver by providing a refuge for the survivors.

The Way of a Ship - Square Rigger Voyage in the Last Days of Sail
Derek Lundy - Author and deep sea sailor
Derek who lives on Salt Spring Island, has written a number of books including Godforsaken Sea about the worlds most dangerous yacht race, the Vendee Globe and The Way of a Ship. He will share with us his account of what it was like to sail around the Cape Horn in the late 19th century.
